"I assume no one else reads what I write," a friend once told me. I'll admit that I write in the hope that others (beyond my immediate family) will read my work.
Yet I was amazed and couldn't believe my eyes when a friend forwarded a news report that had the Chief Justice of India Shri DY Chandrachud quoting directly from a piece I wrote last week for the Scroll.
The icing on the cake was that there was actually a video of his both name-checking me and reading a short excerpt.
I'm sharing this for all the writers out there. Trust in yourself and put out your work, you never know the impact it could have.
