Enduko Nirdaya, a composition of Tyagaraja in raga Harikambodhi is a unique composition. There are five charanams to the song and each charanam is sung in a different manner. Usually when there are multiple charanams in a song, they would have similar pattern of notes or sangatis. But in this song, each charanam stands out for its own sangati and are different from one another. The song describes a devotee's yearning for the grace of Lord Rama. Here is a lovely rendition of the song by the Alathur Brothers. The raga alapana that precedes the song is soul-stirring. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvzmkVAtfNU
