Surdas was a 16th century mystic of the Bhakti movement. He was a visually challenged poet. A chance meeting with the mystic Vallabhacharya at Gau Ghat transformed his life and he became a follower of the Vallabha Sampradaya or Pushti Marg. His poems collectively referred to as Sur Sagar are believed to be more than a hundred thousand though only 8000 are now extant. Here is a playlist of some of his bhajans rendered by different musicians.
